Often before I really get my teeth into the mechanics of a project my time is spent plodding the net. Now by plodding I really mean research, generally after recieving a spec for a new project I’ll spend a good amount of time exploring other sites for inspiration and idea’s relating to the project.

This search involves 2 things; one, sifting through the clients competitors websites to get an idea what’s working well and what isn’t; two, the inspirational brain storming, this usually involves me referring to my depository of links to get the old cogs going. Now don’t get me wrong I am a creative, but I also understand the more idea's and visuals I can cram into my caffeine driven head, the better the final outcome, or so I think anyway.
