Cross browser compatibility, these words haunt web developers across the modern web environment. With more and more browsers coming out of the woodwork it seems a constant chore to keep websites functioning throughout each browser. I myself work to a tolerance, by this I mean coding to ensure my sites work in Firefox, Chrome, Safari and of course the dreaded IE (internet explorer 7 onwards) which in turn seems to cover a large majority of the internet consumer.

So we are left with a set of CSS rules that apply to specific browsers (though some try to move toward IE’s conditional comments on body tags). These so called rules or ‘hacks’ make it pissble to target individual browsers, these mainly include the big boys such as Internet Explorer, Firefox, Chrome, Safari and Opera.
